Competition Details
Poems may be on any subject or style and MUST NOT have been
previously published, or posted on a website or blog. Poems posted
on members-only writing groups for workshop purposes as part of the
creative process are not deemed to have been previously published.
Poems must also not be under consideration for publication or
accepted for publication elsewhere, and may not be simultaneously
entered into another competition.
Length: Maximum 50 lines per poem
Entry Fees: £3.00/1 poem, £6.00/2
poems, £9.00/3 poems, £11.00/4 poems,
£12.00/5 poems, £16.00/7 poems, and £22.00/10 poems. (You may enter as many poems as you wish – with
the applicable fees.
Prizes: First: £150.00 ($238.00), Second:
£75.00 ($119.00), Third: £50.00 ($79.00), Highly Commended: £10 x 3.
($16.00 x 3) Note: Dollar equivalents are based on exchange rate on
7-april-2012.
Results due: 31st July, 2012

First Publication: The three winning poems, three highly
commended poems, plus nine other poems (15 poems in total) will
receive first publication in Sentinel Champions magazine in print
and eBook in February 2013. The authors will each receive a free
contributor's copy.
Anniversary Year Giveaway: As part of the
celebration to mark 10 years of Sentinel Poetry Movement, 1 entrant
to this quarter's poetry competition will receive a year's free
subscription to Sentinel Champions magazine.

Sentinel Literary Quarterly Poetry
Competitions have successfully run every 3 months since July 2009
and have become a regular feature in the international writing
competitions environment attracting entries from all over the world.

About the judge
Will Daunt is the author of
five poetry books including Distant Close, The Good is Abroad,
Running out of England, and Powerless - a winner in the 2010 Indigo
Dreams collection competition. He has reviewed for Envoi and
New Hope International. Daunt lives in Ormskirk, Lancashire.
